Good news for jailbreak enthusiast and all Apple lovers running the latest iOS 8.4 firmware! The Chinese jailbreak team, TaiG has released their latest jailbreak tool for Apple’s most recent 8.4 mobile operating system update.

TaiG’s latest tool is currently only available for Mac OS X users and the tool allows you to fully jailbreak the up-to-date iOS 8.4 device from your Mac computer, meaning no one will have to resort to running a virtual machine.

The team’s release of the tool is perfect, as back in late June, the team released an iOS 8.4 Jailbreak tool in the form of an .exe for Windows systems exclusively, forcing any desired Mac user to boot up a virtual machine or dual boot Windows on their Mac.

TaiG’s Jailbreak tool for Mac OS X is designed to support versions of the iOS mobile operating system from iOS 8.1.3 up to 8.4. The tool is available from the teams official project website.

How do I jailbreak my iOS 8 iPhone, iPod or iPad? It’s simple, and can be completed in five easy steps.

  1. Download and install the TaiG jailbreak application
  2. Disable ‘Find My iPhone’ through your device’s iCloud settings before proceeding
  3. Connect your iPhone, iPod or iPad to the computer
  4. Run the Jailbreak tool and follow any necessary on screen instruction. Proceed to install Cydia
  5. Reboot your device a few times and your iOS 8 device will be successfully jailbroken

Jailbreaking an iOS device allows users to install third-party applications not authorized by Apple, bypassing their security measures. Many tweaks and hacks can be installed through Cydia, the jailbroken app store, and allow you to fully customize your device.

The tool the Jailbreak team released is untethered, meaning the device does not require an external connection to execute commands to wake it back up. The jailbreak is safe and should allow your iPhone to operate, shut off, and reboot normally.
